Brighton Guitar Workshop | VINTAGE & NITRO FINISHES
CUSTOM GUITAR
PAINTWORK
I apply nitrocellulose lacquer finishes — the traditional finish used on American guitars from the 1950s to the 1970s. Nitro breathes with the wood and ages beautifully over time.
Whether you want a period-correct burst, a custom colour, or a complete strip and refinish, the work is done by hand with careful prep and multiple thin coats.

SPECIALIST IN VINTAGE, RELIC & NITROCELLULOSE FINISHES.
All of our guitars are finished in Nitrocellulose. Re-finishing and repairs are also done in Nitrocellulose. One of the main advantages of this type of finish is that it’s very thin and thus allows good movement of the wood as it vibrates. This is particularly important with acoustic instruments as it’s this vibration is that dictates the sound of the guitar.
